MP4 to SRT, straight from your video

Choose an MP4 and get a timed SRT subtitle file in minutes. The speech recognition runs on your device, so your video stays with you.

  • Your file never leaves your device
  • No sign-up, no minute limits, no watermark
  • Around 100 languages, with translation to English

What you get

An SRT file has one numbered block per subtitle, with a start time, an end time and the words spoken. It works in YouTube, Facebook, VLC, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut Desktop and almost every video player.

You can fix any word before downloading, and choose how long each subtitle line can be. Around 42 characters suits a computer screen; 25 to 30 suits a phone.

Other video formats

MOV, WEBM, MKV and M4V files work the same way. If a file won't open, it usually uses an unusual audio format: convert it to MP4 with any video converter and try again.

Questions

Is the MP4 uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser reads the file and the AI runs on your device. Only the AI model itself is downloaded, once.

Can I get VTT instead of SRT?

Yes. After transcribing, choose VTT next to the SRT button.

How accurate is it?

Clear speech usually comes out very well. Choose the spoken language and the Most accurate setting for fast talkers, accents or background music.
