Make subtitles for any video, free and private

Get timed SRT or VTT subtitles in minutes, ready for YouTube, TikTok, Reels or your video editor. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is watermarked.

  • Your file never leaves your device
  • No sign-up, no minute limits, no watermark
  • Around 100 languages, with translation to English

How it works

  1. Add your video

Choose the video you want to caption. Short clips and full-length videos both work.

  2. Generate the subtitles

Each line gets its own start and end time. Set how long lines can be for phone or desktop viewing.

  3. Download and upload

Download the SRT or VTT file and add it in YouTube Studio, TikTok, CapCut, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Why it's free, private and unlimited

Most transcription sites send your file to their servers, and every minute costs them money. That is why they limit free use, add watermarks or ask you to subscribe.

This site works differently. The speech recognition model, OpenAI's open-source Whisper, runs inside your own browser. Your file is never uploaded, and we never see it, so there is nothing to limit.

Questions

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?

Both are subtitle files with text and timings. SRT works almost everywhere, including YouTube, Facebook and most video editors. VTT is the web standard, used by HTML5 video players.

How do I add subtitles to a YouTube video?

In YouTube Studio, open the video, choose Subtitles, add a language, then choose Upload file, With timing, and select the SRT file.

Can I burn the subtitles into the video?

Yes. When the subtitles are ready, use Add these subtitles to your video below the transcript, choose a style, and download your video with the captions on it.

Will there be a watermark?

No. The subtitle files are plain text, and you keep full control of your video.
