How it works
Your browser plays the video once, draws each subtitle on top, and records the result into a new video file. It takes about as long as the video itself, so a one-minute clip takes about a minute. Keep this tab open and visible while it runs.
Nothing is uploaded: the video and subtitles stay on your device the whole time.
The result
Chrome and Edge save an MP4 that you can upload to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and most apps. Some other browsers save WEBM instead, which YouTube accepts; other apps may need it converted to MP4.
For vertical videos, short lines of 20 to 30 characters read best. Choose the middle position to keep text clear of TikTok and Reels buttons.
